This 2.5" x 3.5" magnet is of a baptismal wish for Eva Eissenhaer.This baptismal wish, or Taufwunsch, combines European and Pennsylvania traditions. Like its Old World counterparts, it begins with good wishes to the newly baptized child, and it also includes generalogical information amore typical of New World documents.These were the most common type of fraktur made in Pennsylvania due to the importance of baptism within the Lutheran and Reformed faiths.This image is attributed to the Sussel-Washington artist.
